Exercise And Taking Walks To Help Get A Good Nights Rest

Sleep problems increase with the advancement of age – more than half of the people aged over 65 suffer from milder or more severe insomnia. While many elderly people choose to address the problem by taking sleeping pills, there is a much healthier and much safer way to help with sleeping issues, a way that is beneficial for the entire body, for the mind as well as for the soul and that is exercise. However, not all forms of exercise are suitable for elderly people – here are some that are:

  • Walking – taking a walk around the block is the best way to keep the muscles and the joints in good shape.   • Swimming – this low impact exercise is also known to be beneficial for sleeping;
